Every summer Nickerson beach in Long Island, NY is beaming with nesting shorebirds. Last to arrive is the Black Skimmer. We visited the beach in mid-July, late July and again in early August. We tried to capture some of the action that we saw of the mating couples and later some of the chicks..maybe just a couple of days old.
